The problem we saw
Every day, employees copy proprietary code, financial data, and customer records into public AI tools — not out of carelessness, but because those tools make them faster at their jobs. Security teams see the risk. Employees see the productivity gain. Traditional firewalls see neither, because none of it looks like a file transfer. It just looks like a conversation.
That gap has already cost companies dearly. It's why Samsung banned ChatGPT company-wide after engineers pasted proprietary source code into it. It's why Apple, JPMorgan, and Amazon followed with restrictions of their own. And it's why, industry-wide, breaches involving unsanctioned AI tools now cost an average of $670,000 more to clean up than a standard data breach.
Banning AI doesn't solve this. It just pushes the behavior underground. What enterprises actually need is a way to say yes to AI — safely.
What we built
SafeSpace AI is a privacy layer that sits between your organization and any public AI model. It automatically tokenizes sensitive data in every outbound prompt — source code, contract terms, customer identifiers, anything confidential — before it ever leaves your network, then restores the original context in the response that comes back. The AI gets what it needs to be useful. The outside world never sees what it shouldn't.

The proxy runs entirely inside your own private cloud. Your data is never routed through a third-party vendor's servers, which matters enormously for European companies bound by GDPR and the EU AI Act.

Why now
Europe's regulatory landscape is tightening fast, with the EU AI Act's Article 50 enforcement beginning August 2026. At the same time, the market for independent, sovereign AI security tools has been consolidating rapidly, as larger platform players acquire the specialists that used to serve this space. That leaves a real gap for a European, self-hosted alternative built specifically for regulated industries — which is exactly where we sit.
